News and Info
Chapter Update 10/11/2023
The Detroit Chapter has a lot going on post COVID. Some attended the NTAG Detroit (Navy Recruiting) and USCG Sector Detroit Change of Command. We had a chance to visit the Grosse Pointe War Memorial and Selfridge Air Museum. The Chapter will participate with the Navy League - METDET for the US Navy flag raising in front of the Coleman Young City building and the Navy Ball at the RENCEN on October 13. The USS Detroit LCS 7 was decomissioned on Sep 24, however, Marinette Marine has the frigate contract and we hope to see some of these ships in the Metro Detroit area. We were encouraged to help with the commission of the USS Carl Levin DDG 120 in Baltimore on June 24. We are looking forward to participating in many upcoming events, including the Detroit Veterans Day parade.
