Navy Supply Corps Foundation Announces New President
October 17, 2019 - Navy Supply Corps Foundation, Newport Chapter announces its new President, LT Danica Johnson. The U.S. Navy Supply Corps Foundation is a non-profit professional and social organization, dedicated to educational, charitable, patriotic, professional and community service. Since 1971, the foundation has provided over $6.1 million in college scholarships to the children of military parents, and memorial scholarships to the children of military logisticians killed in the line of duty. All individuals who have ever worn the Supply Corps Oak Leak are members of the foundation.
The Foundation pursues its mission by providing services and programs related to recruiting, training and development, transition, recognition, financial support and commemoration of the Supply Corps Community. “The goal moving forward for the Newport Chapter is community involvement through civic service efforts, quarterly socials, attendance at local chamber and rotary club meetings, annual events and corporate partnerships,” states LT Johnson.
LT Johnson intends to create positive, measurable, long lasting local community relationships through projects highlighting Supply Corps public service contributions. This effort will make it easy to continue to move the foundation forward and maintain close community relationships in Newport.
