Captain Todd A. Wanack

A native of Humble, Texas, Captain Wanack enlisted in the Texas National Guard in 1989, where he joined G Company 143rd Airborne Infantry (Long Range Surveillance). He earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting from the University of Houston in 1991.

Captain Wanack enlisted in the United States Navy in 1992 and was selected for Officer Commissioning School in 1995.  Following the Supply Officer Basic Qualification Course, he was assigned to USNS SAN JOSE (TAFS 7) as the Material and Quality Assurance Officer.  

Following his tour onboard USNS SAN JOSE, he was selected as a Navy Acquisition and Contracting Officer intern at the Naval Sea Systems Command from 1998-2000.
Reporting onboard USS GUNSTON HALL (LSD 44) in 2000, Captain Wanack served as the Supply Officer.  During his tenure onboard GUNSTON HALL, he deployed to South America and West Africa as part of a UNITAS and a West African Training Cruise.    

Completing his tour aboard GUNSTON HALL in 2003, Captain Wanack reported to Naval Supply Systems Command – Office of Personnel, where he served as a Detailer and Manpower Requirements Officer.  While at the Naval Supply Systems Command, he was deployed to Kuwait in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom.    

In 2005, Captain Wanack attended post graduate school at Rice University in Houston, Texas, where he earned a Master of Business Administration in 2007.   Following graduation, Captain Wanack was a Logistics Planner on the staffs of both Commander Second Fleet and Commander United States Fleet Forces Command.  

Reporting to Defense Logistics Agency, he served as a Division Chief for Land and Maritime and then as the Commanding Officer of Defense Logistics Agency Distribution - Bahrain, the only Defense Depot in the U.S. Central Command’s Area of Operation.

After command, he reported to Naval Air System Command, first as Deputy Director of Contracts for Naval Air Warfare Center Training Systems Division and currently as the Department Head for the Major Weapons Systems & Aircraft Support Contracts Department.

His decorations include two Defense Meritorious Service Medals, two Meritorious Service Medals, three Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medals, the Joint Service Achievement Medal, four Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medals and various campaign ribbons and medals.  He is a member of the Acquisition Corps and holds a Certified Public Accounting License.  Captain Wanack is married to Anna-Lisa Mollett Wanack.  They have two daughters, Alexandra (12) and Catherine (9).
