FLASH FROM THE CHIEF: National Disability Employment Awareness Month

Flash from the Commander NAVSUP and Chief of Supply Corps

National Disability Employment Awareness Month
During National Disability Employment Awareness Month, we celebrate the many contributions of employees with disabilities. This year’s theme, “Don't Set Limits on Unlimited Potential,” emphasizes the boundless possibilities when barriers are removed for individuals with disabilities.
One in four American adults live with some type of disability. However, many rise beyond their limitations through resilience and determination, adding great value to the workforce. The unemployment rate for disabled adults is six percent, a historical low.
Our supply community is committed to ensuring that all applicants have full and fair consideration for job vacancies, ensuring no discrimination against qualified individuals with disabilities. We can best achieve mission success through the talents of a capable, inclusive, and diverse workforce. During this month and throughout the year, keep in mind that our team’s strength is built upon the contributions of every individual working as a cohesive unit to provide world class logistics support to warfighting, warfighters, and the future fleet.
