Memorial Day: Honor our fallen officers
On Memorial Day, we recognize and honor the men and women who have sacrificed their lives while serving in the U.S. military. In particular, the Foundation remembers our fallen Supply Corps brothers and sisters, and honors their contributions to the Navy and ultimate sacrifice while serving our great Nation.
Since 2001, 26 Supply Corps officers have died while on active duty, leaving behind 45 dependent children. Through our Memorial Scholarship program, the Foundation contributes $10,000 to establish a scholarship fund for each of the minor children of our Supply Corps officers who die while on active duty. Our fallen Supply Corps officers have a place in the context of American naval history and remind us of the Supply Corps critical role in maintaining the world’s most modern and efficient naval force. We continue to proudly support their families, our veterans and all who currently serve in the Supply Corps, as we have for more than 50 years.
