News and Info

The Winter issue of The Oakleaf is online now!
We pack as much as possible into every issue and this one is no exception--starting with our cover stories. Despite the obstacles, our 2020 Chapters-of-the-Year provided an impressive program of activities, which we describe in detail on page 16. We also introduce our newest Distinguished Alumnus, J. Ronald Terwilliger in an article on Page 8, and celebrate all our Distinguished Alumni on the following pages.

Our Transition Survey results are in! Starting on page 24, CDR (ret) Bob Dolan breaks down your survey responses and brings new resources to your attention, namely a Grant Pilot Program and partnership with a mentoring company. And we kick off Scholarship season (2022-2023 Foundation Applications open December 20th) with a reminder of the many grateful recipients of your generosity. Highlighted in this issue are Memorial Scholarship beneficiaries The Dour Family and Kahleb Fallon, son of SK3 Jamie Fallon who was killed at the Pentagon on 9/11.

Of course, no issue is complete without the wise words of RADM (ret) Dan McKinnon. On page 15 he solves the mystery of the Supply Corps Flag officers from the Summer issue, and on page 12, Dan shares his thoughts on a recent lunch in his article Chief 49 visits Chief 35.

The Winter issue includes many submissions from our valued Members--from LCDR Jim Jacobs' update on Navy Supply Corps School, to the many memories and anecdotes of our veterans, each contribution helps to tell the story of our Community. Would you like to contribute? Active, retired, reserve, former and family members are encouraged to submit articles, pictures, news and updates to theoakleaf@usnscf.com. Click here to view our Submission Guidelines.

Finally, it's a good time to update your email and Chapter affiliation in your Member Profile to ensure you don't miss Chapter activities in your area. Login and update your information at www.usnscf.com
