Chasing the Dream is a virtual discussion focused on finding meaning and purpose in life outside the workplace with guest speaker Billy Dodson. Billy is a Foundation Distinguished Alumnus, retired Supply Corps Captain, and world-renowned conservationist, writer, and wildlife photographer. 

Billy, a native of southern Missouri, earned a bachelor’s degree from Southeast Missouri State University in 1979. He was commissioned via OCS, and served 25 years in the Navy, seven as an officer of the line and the remainder in the Supply Corps. He retired as a Captain in 2004. Post retirement, Billy authored a book, From Desert to Desert: A Journey Through the Heart of Southern Africa, and many articles supporting conservation efforts throughout eastern and southern Africa. In 2022, Billy and a friend founded Savanna Dream Safaris, a company dedicated to constructing customized safaris throughout sub-Saharan Africa for people of all ages and budgets. His work has been published in magazines, newspapers, posters and calendars around the world, learn more @https://www.savannaimages.com. Billy currently resides in Williamsburg, Virginia, with his wife Cynthia.
