News and Info

Thanks to our CFC/United Way contributors
We thank all our contributors for their support of the Foundation.  For those who contribute via the Combined Federal Campaign, we often don't receive enough information (full name and address) to be able to thank you properly. The Foundation is greatly appreciative of your donation and your support of our mission.  Your contribution will help the Foundation reach its long-term goals and continue its dedication to serve the Navy Supply Corps community. Because of people like you, we can continue our Scholarship Program and to"take care of our own".  Again, thank you for your donation.

Passing of Jeanne McHenry

Jeanne McHenry, wife of RADM Wendell McHenry passed away suddenly - totally unexpectedly - of a massive heart attack at home on Sunday 6 April .  Their daughter, Leslie, reports that Jeanne's ashes will be interred at a future time at Arlington  alongside those of a teenage son who was killed in an auto accident on the Dulles Airport access road in the Winter of '60-'61.  As of now, no local services for Jeanne are planned.  In addition to "Mac", one son and one daughter also survive.

Multiple Designer Fuels Produced at Scale from Seawater
For all who ever spent three suspenseful hours of their life they will never get back driving ships alongside transferring fuel; maneuvered under the air tanker to "catch the cone;" fought the surf filling a fuel bladder on the beach; risked death by explosion or electrocution whilst performing the un-natural act of helicopter in-flight refueling (HIFR); or waited for the C-17 to land with the gas…….. take a few minutes to hit the below link, read this and watch the videos………… it is real………….

NRL (known inside the Navy as "nuts running loose") has developed (note past tense) a proven catalytic process to manufacture, WHERE AND WHEN REQUIRED, multiple types of fuel FROM SEAWATER!

For the record, it took me a while to get used to reverse osmosis desalination as well, until I took it out of my rucksack and used it on the Appalachian Trail.

The technology is less than 10 years away from deployment.

Enjoy and contemplate.

IVO this evolving capability…….. nuclear power…… Quo Vadis?
